State Energy and resources minister Lily D’Ambrosio has responded to concerns of a potential gas shortage.

She says the market operator is spot-on with their claims.

“They’ve identified gaps in peak demand periods so between now and 2028, they are very confident that they’ll be able to ensure sufficient supply of gas to meet any potential shortfall,” she told Tom Elliott.

She also states gas exploration companies are unable to find gas due to depleting gas levels.

“Some people just don’t want to hear that, and some people might want to spread misinformation for their own political benefit,” she said.
