Industry insiders have put out a warning over the deteriorating conditions of balconies with thousands at risk of collapsing and causing water damage inside homes.

Founder and director of PASG Projects, Sam Hogg, says there are a few reasons, including failures in waterproofing.

“The biggest problems are the suburban three-storey apartment blocks because they’ve been built out of timber framing,” he told Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen, filling in for Ross and Russ.
