A 53-year-old Ringwood North woman has died in Clunes, just after midnight Sunday, following a health retreat, and two people have been taken to hospital.

Press PLAY to hear what is known so far

Victoria Police have confirmed they’re investigating after the woman stopped breathing, and suffered a cardiac arrest, at a Fraser Street alternative health service called the Soul Barn.

Crime reporter at The Age, Marta Pascual Juanola, who broke the story, says investigators aren’t sure if the mushroom drink is responsible for the woman’s death.

“It’s suspected to be a mushroom-based drink, but no other substances have been ruled out yet,” she told Jacqui Felgate.

The woman died at the scene.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
