Deakin University has been subject to pro-Palestine protests encampments since Tuesday as part of wider protests at universities.

Protester, Jasmine says they’re calling on the university to cut all ties with Israel.

“We’ve know that the names of Australian universities have been on tents in Rafah, we’ve seen children with signs with the names of Australian universities,” she told Tom Elliott.

She also took exception to the Mornings host’s questioning over protesters who choose to protest for Palestine.

“I think what you’re trying to do is ridiculously poke holes in a protest movement by young people who are standing against atrocities being carried out against the people of Gaza,” she said.
