A man called 3AW earlier this morning to report a scary incident involving his daughter in South Yarra.

Victoria Police Statement: 

Police received a report over the phone at about 7.35am on 31 July, for suspicious activity that had occurred earlier that morning in South Yarra.

Officers were told a male approached a car parked in a carpark on Carters Avenue about 5.45am. It’s believed the male banged on the driver’s door before asking the driver for a lift.

The male was last seen walking away from the car after discarding an axe at the rear of the vehicle.

Officers attended the scene and seized the axe.
