Melbourne’s west has become the fastest-growing region in all of Australia but experts are questioning if it’s been given up on.

Professor in sustainability and urban planning at RMIT University Andrew Butt says there are a couple of reasons why.

“For a long, long time it hasn’t been a growing area … the pace of growth we’ve seen … in the last 20 years has been phenomenal,” he told 3AW Mornings.
