Heidi Murphy blasts Liberal Party in-fighting ‘nonsense’
Heidi Murphy has called out the in-fighting “nonsense” within the Liberal Party at the moment, as the legal stouse involving former leader John Pesutto is set to drag on for months.
The challenge to reverse the $1.55 million loan to Pesutto to save him from bankruptcy has been put off until September, and members of the administrative committee including current leader Brad Battin have been dragged into the “mess”.
“I do not think there’s any chance of that dispute being settled,” Murphy said.
Press PLAY to hear Heidi Murphy call out the ‘utter distraction’ plaguing the Liberal Party
“It means uncertainty for Pesutto, it means utter, utter distraction for the party, pointless nonsense for the party.
“What’s good for democracy is a government held to account by a strong, sensible, cohesive opposition.”
