There’s a growing push for the government’s childcare subsidy to be altered in line with modern standards, which under the plan could see family members paid to look after children.

Family members who take care of young children aren’t currently eligible for a subsidy.

For Parents co-founder Jennifer Flemming argues that the current system doesn’t cater to all types of childcare.
