Elderly shopper attacked as sword-wielding youths hold up supermarket
A supermarket in Chelsea Heights was held up in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon, shocking shoppers.
Multiple witnesses have told Jacqui Felgate that five masked individuals stormed the IGA on Thames Promenade armed with machetes and crowbards.
Shae works at the supermarket and said one of the offenders attacked an elderly shopper while trying to steal money and cigarettes.

“Six kids ran into the store with a crowbar, a wrench, and one had a really large sword,” she told Jacqui Felgate.
“They assaulted one of our regular (shoppers).”
Police later confirmed that a similar incident occurred at an IGA in Wonga Park earlier on Tuesday.
