UPDATE

Tom Elliott has named the school at the centre of an antisemitism storm.

The 3AW Mornings host has been told that multiple students from a state school in Melbourne’s northwest directed abuse towards Jewish children attending Melbourne Museum earlier in the week.

Tom Elliott says he was right when he said anti-Semitism was on the rise in Melbourne after a shocking incident against primary school students from Mount Scopus Memorial College.

Reports have emerged which allege school children were on an excursion to Melbourne Museum where they were verbally abused by high school students.

“They’re just kids, 10 to 11-years-old … going to the museum – a pretty normal school excursion – and to have other students chanting ‘dirty Jew’, it is just nasty, nasty stuff,” he said.

Michael, One of the student’s grandfather says his granddaughter is “completely traumatised” by the incident.

“My granddaughter really doesn’t understand why this happened, this is the first time she’s ever experienced any anti-Semitism,” he said.
