Police are investigating an armed robbery at a shopping centre in Narre Warren South, which a witness has described as “terrifying”.

Officers were called to a Cranbourne Road shopping centre on Wednesday morning following reports of a man armed with a hammer entering a jewellery store.

Tony Moclair received a call from listener Lisa who was at the shopping centre at the time of the “terrifying” incident.

“He did scare a lot of people … I’ve seen traumatised young ladies today,” she said on 3AW Afternoons.
