Magnitude 3.1 earthquake wakes up thousands across the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne
A magnitude 3.1 earthquake has woken up thousands of people across the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne and as far as Geelong just after 4:30 this morning.
Chief scientist at the Seismology Research Centre Adam Pascale says the earthquake was recorded off the coast of Flinders but has ruled out the risk of a tsunami.
