Many house hunters in Victoria are being slugged with hefty registration fees to bid at auctions. 

Master auctioneer Greg Brydon explained how it is sometimes used to protect the seller, due to the lack of legislation in Victoria.

“There is no requirement to register to bid within Victoria, so just the step of having a registration within Victoria is something that is over the top,” he said on 3AW Drive.
