Magpie great Tony Shaw has slammed the AFL’s decision to lower Izak Rankine’s suspension.

Shaw questioned the legitimacy of a mystery “ailment” used by Rankine, which seems to have shortened his ban for a homophobic slur.

“I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is, it’s pretty well much like everyone that goes to court now …. There’s plenty of excuses out there,” he said on 3AW Drive.
