Chief Victorian Police Commissioner Mike Bush has provided an update regarding the ongoing manhunt this morning.

Reporters have been told the identities of the slain police officers will be revealed later today once their families have been notified.

“I can assure everyone that we are pouring every resource into the search for this person; we must find him,” he said.

Police are continuing to hunt for Dezi Freeman, who remains on the run in the bush this morning, after the accused fatally shot two police officers and wounded another.

Victoria Police confirmed overnight the accused’s wife and two children attended a police station late last night.

Victoria Police media adviser Paul Hogan told 3AW Breakfast there’s no suggestion they had been held as hostages.
