A journalist who was detained by China for three years has shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding former Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews’ trip to China.

Sky News host Cheng Lei says Andrews’ has pushed the boundaries as a former politician, and she’s also questioned how the former Premier paid for the trip.

“I was so surprised even when we were seeing it in real time that he was with these dictators, and it was either China really wanting to see a white face in there, or he’s given China something very valuable,” She said on 3AW Drive.
