Some historically important cannons in Williamstown have been graffitied with anti war-statements, as confirmed on the Rumour File.

The large Armstrong Cannons on The Strand were placed in the years after the Crimean War.

Victoria Police have released the following statement:

Police are aware of graffiti at a historical site on The Strand in Williamstown.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, with dashcam or CCTV footage or any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
