A woman has died in Melbourne’s north after being hit by a truck.

Police were called to reports of a collision on the corner of Bell Street and Sydney Road at around 12:40pm on Thursday, with the woman unable to be revived.

“You’ll want to avoid that intersection,” eyewitness Damian said on 3AW Afternoons.

Public transport in the area has been diverted and motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
