Health expert Dr Nick Coatsworth has condemned Donald Trump and his administration for linking common pain medication with autism.

The US president is claiming there’s a link between taking paracetamol and babies developing autism.

But Mr Coatsworth told Tom Elliott there was no scientific basis to support the highly controversial claim.

“I don’t think there is a causal link (between paracetamol and autism),” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“Trump in (his) usual way has put a bomb under this and overegged the science.”
