Former Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has opened up on the abuse he still faces on the streets after the COVID pandemic.

In an in-depth interview on the Neil Mitchell Asks Why podcast, Sutton said there was always going to be people “hurt or disappointed” by the decisions that were made by himself and other health officials.

“There’s no escaping that, it’s the reality and I can and should accept it,” Sutton told Neil Mitchell.

“I don’t begrudge them.”

When the former 3AW Mornings host asked Sutton what he got wrong during the pandemic, the former chief health officer was very honest in his response.

“Probably a list that’s too long for this podcast,” Sutton said.
