Sly of the Underworld has explained how the federal government has become the “silent partner” in organised crime.

The veteran crime writer referenced the illicit tobacco market and drug kingpin Kazem ‘Kaz’ Hamad.

“The government has driven people into the shadows, and they like it,” Sly said on 3AW Breakfast.
