The pressure placed on Year 12 students to excel in VCE exams remains unfair, according to Shane McInnes.

Thousands of students are preparing to sit their final-year school exams in the coming weeks.

And the 3AW presenter said the amount of stress that teenagers go under to achieve a high ATAR score wasn’t fair on them.

“It’s been some 22 years since my VCE exams and the thought of them still has me breaking out in a cold sweat,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.

“The expectation to perform both internally and externally brought with it a heightened anxiety, that, looking back, I don’t think was fair on me or other students.”
