A massive fire has engulfed a house in Aberfeldie, near Essendon overnight.

The alarm was raised just after 3am, with up to 60 firefighters called to the scene.

“This is one of the biggest fires I’ve attended,” 3AW police reporter Madelaine Burke told Ross and Russ.
