Two teenagers have been left with minor injuries following a machete attack near Luna Park in St Kilda last night.

Eyewitness Jane spoke to Tom Elliott about what she saw as she was going to the Palais Theatre.

“We live in the country and we love going to the city, but after last night, why would we go in there?” Jane said on 3AW Mornings.

A group of males armed with machetes approached the teenage boys on Cavell Street at around 6:30pm where they allegedly assaulted the boys before fleeing in a grey-coloured Land Rover.

The car was involved in a minor collision with another car at the intersection of The Esplanade and Cavell Street before fleeing towards the Melbourne CBD.

The offenders are still on the run.
