The Liberal Party is expected to announce their stance on net zero as early as midday today, but polling suggests either pathway could present new problems for the coalition.

Press PLAY to hear why the decision could have negative impacts

“The problem the coalition has is that even when we speak to Australians around net zero and all these policies, they say, look, nothing’s perfect, yes, it’s going to be more expensive, but I’m really concerned about it,” director at Red Bridge Group Australia, Kos Samaras, told Tom Elliott.

Alternatively, Mr Samaras argued that a pro-net-zero stance might appear insincere to Australians who are genuinely concerned about the policy, given the ongoing debates within the party on the issue.
