Premier Jacinta Allan and Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced a $5.6 million investment into early intervention officers in at-risk schools from next year.

The officers will be deployed in 20 government schools across the state, in a bid to prevent children from turning to violence.

“An education, a job and a stable home are the best measures we can do, and do well to prevent crime,” Mr Carroll told Jacqui Felgate.

“Crime is preventable, not inevitable, and the best chance is early intervention, which is where these early intervention officers in schools come into play.”
