Victoria Police have released the following statement:

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a burglary at two different retail premises in Hawthorn on Thursday, 27 November.

It is alleged the Lynbrook man attended the two Glenferrie Road businesses, just after 4:30am.

Police were quickly on the scene and the man was located inside one of the stores after he had fallen through the roof.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 26-year-old man was charged with Burglary (2).

He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on 28 November.

Workers inside the store fled and were unharmed and nothing was stolen.
