The 20th anniversary of the Socceroos’ history-making penalty shootout win over Uruguay to qualify for the 2006 World Cup has recently been celebrated.

John Aloisi’s game-winning penalty has gone down in Australian sporting history, but what is less known is that 3AW broadcast the game on the night, direct from Stadium Australia in Sydney.
