Papenhuyzen provides clarity on future following shock Storm exit
Former Melbourne Storm star Ryan Papenhuyzen is fully focused on time away from the NRL in 2026, stopping short of fully ruling out joining a rebel Rugby competition.

Speaking at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, he told 3AW’s Kiara Parker that a return down the track to the NRL was unlikely.
“People change careers all the time, and I feel it was my time to do that for next year,” Papenuhyzen said.
“Right now I’m looking ahead to next year…I’m looking forward to giving back (in other fields).”
