Communications minister Anika Wells has come under fire as more taxpayer funded trips come to light.

Last week, Tom Elliott shared his thoughts on Wells’ expensive trip to New York City, and now more examples have been exposed over the weekend.

“Wasting money on things just does not sit very well with me or with anybody else I would’ve thought,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“Anika Wells’ travel might be within the rules, the rules need to be changed.

“Both sides of politics do this, and it is wrong.”

Heidi Murphy has also weighed in, saying, “I’m not even all that upset about the Paris trip spending.”

“What does irritate me is the airfares to get a plus one to sporting events, to enjoy luxury hospitality.”
