“Is it acceptable that at a time of record debt here in Victoria, and at a time when every expense needs to be carefully considered?” the 3AW host asked.

Expert in political marketing from the Australian National University, Dr Andrew Hughes, then hit out at the expensive trip at taxpayers’ expense.

“It just doesn’t make any sense,” Dr Hughes told Shane McInnes.
