State opposition leader Jess Wilson is facing another major challenge, with a partyroom battle looming over the deputy leader’s job.

Ms Wilson’s nominated former deputy David Southwick is set to replace the retiring Sam Groth, but conservative backbencher Chris Crewther is believed to be planning to challenge at a partyroom meeting when parliament returns on February 3.

Shadow minister Brad Rowswell insists the party is united, when questioned by Jacqui Felgate about the matter.

“I think we’re getting along more than we ever have historically,” Mr Rowswell told Felgate.

“Our focus is not on ourselves, our focus is on Victorians.”
