‘Four rival gangs’: Attacks lead to surge in travel insurance claims
Monkey attacks on people while on holiday in South-East Asia have led to a surge in travel insurance claims.
Chief executive officer of the Australian Travel Industry Association Dean Long says Thailand authorities have a dedicated unit to crack down and detain the monkeys.

“So big problem, and it’s a big problem since COVID, as their food source disappeared and they turned into gangs … there’s four rival gangs’,” he told Ross and Russ.
“They train each other to work out what’s the best way to pickpocket,” he added.
