A Beaumaris resident has fired up after falling victim to an attempted aggravated burglary this week.

Craig told Jacqui Felgate he’s “infuriated” after four youths caused havoc in his nearby neighbourhood.

“I’m actually shaking even talking to you, I’m so angry, everyone is terrified, it’s crazy,” Craig said on 3AW Drive.

Press PLAY to hear him fire up (including what he’s implored Premier Jacinta Allan to do)

“It’s infuriating, living in fear is just not okay.”

Secretary of the Police Association, Wayne Gatt, then had some damning comments to make on police shortages in Victoria.

“We can’t keep going like this and expect situations like your callers to get fixed, it just won’t happen,” Gatt told Felgate.

“I think the community is sick of hearing things like we’ll get back to full strength in five years time, that is unacceptable to us.”
