A family friend of Aidan Becker, who died from injuries he suffered while trying to protect a teenage boy from an alleged robbery at Mernda Railway Station on Friday, has delivered a powerful message on 3AW Drive.

Emad, who is a co-worker and a friend of Aidan’s mother, said the brutal death is an “opportunity” for the state government to lead by example with its ‘Adult Crime Adult Time’ approach.

“I received a message that will traumatise me forever,” Emad told Jacqui Felgate.

“It is one of the worst crimes I have heard in years,” the 3AW Drive host said.

Four teenagers have all been charged with murder and armed robbery.
