‘Body cams and facial recognition’: The crime trend forcing Bunnings to change tact

Appearing on 3AW Breakfast, Managing Director of Bunnings, Michael Schneider, said that this kind of behaviour is surging.
Press PLAY to hear the alarming but common reality for retail workers
“Assaults are up, Stalking, harassment and threats up. So it continues to be a significant challenge for our teams and for retail and frontline teams across the state”, Schneider said.
The new nationwide initiative aims to combat the skyrocketing level of retail crime in Victoria.
Bunnings is bringing communities together this Saturday with a free Community Crime Prevention Day at stores across Victoria. Locals can chat with home security experts, connect with local police and Neighbourhood Watch representatives, enjoy kids’ DIY activities and grab a community sausage sizzle, all while learning practical ways to help make their neighbourhoods safer.
