A new proposition has emerged in the attempts to stop the ongoing tobacco wars on Melbourne’s streets.

Shane McInnes, speaking with Assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs, Julian Hill, unpacked how the complete removal of tobacconist stores could improve the situation.

Press PLAY to hear how this could beat the black market

“It’s clearly a ridiculous situation which the country now faces. Victoria is not immune and Victorians are well used to sadly, seeing these ridiculous shops buggering up every suburban town and you’d have to have your eyes glued shut not to see them.” Hill said.

There have been over 120 incidents of arson since 2023.
