Weather experts are warning that a “Super El Niño” could soon strike Australia, placing Victoria – one of the most flammable regions on Earth – at extreme risk.

Speaking on 3AW Mornings with Tom Elliott, Scientia Professor Matthew England cautioned that while the full extent of the current El Niño cycle is unpredictable, it carries a “catastrophic” risk of severe water shortages and a heightened bushfire threat across the state.
