A suggestion from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese amid the ongoing fuel crisis has been labelled “insulting” by Jacqui Felgate.

Member for One Nation, Barnaby Joyce, is calling for a fuel cap, while the opposition wants the federal government to consider cutting the fuel excise.

But the suggestion from the Prime Minister has not gone down well with the 3AW Drive host.

Press PLAY to hear what Anthony Albanese has suggested

“That is not the answer and it is an embarrassment,” Felgate said.

“I think it’s just absolutely ridiculous that the government is putting it back on you the taxpayer, on you the voter, on you the consumer.”

Callers Sarah and Rebecca, who both told Felgate about some crazy petrol and diesel price hikes in recent days, didn’t take lightly to Albanese’s suggestion.

“Get stuffed … it just does not work, it does not make sense,” Sarah said on 3AW Drive.

Press PLAY to hear the ‘insane’ petrol and diesel prices (and their reactions to the PM’s suggestion)

“I think he needs a big reality check,” Rebecca said about Albanese.
