Victoria Police is investigating a terrifying aggravated burglary that a Port Melbourne woman fell victim to earlier this month.

The 77-year-old, who is partially deaf, was awoken to the intruder standing over her bed, holding a knife.

The woman proceeded to chase the offender out of her home, who got away with jewellery and electronics.

Detectives have released CCTV of the man, who is described to be in his 2os and of Indian or Sub-Continental appearance.
