The situation in the Middle East has continued to escalate as US President Donald Trump sends the US Navy to form a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.

The move comes after failed 21-hour peace talks between the US and Iran in Pakistan.

Press PLAY to hear the global impacts of this

Speaking on 3AW Breakfast, shipping lawyer at Cusack and Co Alison Cusack said that the situation within the region is worsening, with both nations refusing to budge.

“Well, what do they expect? Do they expect Iran to come back to the negotiating table?” Cusack said, issuing a warning that Australia must prioritise its exporters during this time.

The conflict began on February 28 and is continuing to have economic and supply impacts worldwide.
