Tom Elliott has brought up several questions in relation to the federal opposition’s new immigration policy.

Federal opposition leader, Angus Taylor, has unveiled part of the Coalition’s immigration platform, which would introduce an Australian Values Statement to visa conditions, and remove tens of thousands of people overstaying on visas.

“I think collectively we all agree that over the last few years post COVID, immigration has been too high,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

He then questioned Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Jonno Duniam on the policy, specifically if they had a number on what the total net immigration should be on a yearly basis.

“I can guarantee your listeners that we will have a number before the election around what we believe is a sustainable level,” Duniam told Elliott.
