A major fire at the Viva Energy refinery in Geelong has been successfully extinguished, with federal authorities confirming that Australia’s broader fuel security remains stable.

Speaking on 3AW Mornings with Tom Elliott, the Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Corio, Richard Marles, says while “this is a setback”, the federal government and “industry are working very closely together to manage the impacts of this fire and to ensure ongoing fuel security for Australians”.
