Entertainment reporter Peter Ford has hit back at critics over his decision to leave Melbourne.

Ford made the announcement six months ago, and told Tony Moclair it’s been an “involved process” as he prepares to move up to Queensland next week.

And he’s provided his reasoning for leaving Melbourne, while questioning the social media abuse he’s copped for the decision.

“You look at some of the online abuse today and people seem to think I had to get their approval,” Ford said on 3AW Afternoons.

“They’re all just trolls, it doesn’t overly worry me … it just seems odd to me to cop abuse for it.”
