Millions of Aussies being ripped off by taxi and rideshare drivers
The number of Aussies that have been ripped off in a taxi or rideshare is continuing to rise as dodgy tactics grow in popularity among drivers.
A survey of 1000 respondents, conducted by Finder, found that 23 per cent of users have been done dirty by drivers who attempt to squeeze as much cash out of the customer as they can.
Speaking with Ross and Russ, Personal Finance Specialist at Finder, Taylor Blackburn, said that often most extra charges come after a price has already been agreed on.

“They miss the turn or they go through an extra toll road, sometimes those things can get corrected after the fact, but sometimes you just get charged for it,” Blackburn said.
Rides to and from the airport had the highest reports of dodgy behaviour, with some passengers saying they have been charged for air-conditioning use.
