New statistics reveal Victoria has higher vehicle crime insurance claims for stolen cars than all other states combined.

Insurance Council of Australia chief executive Andrew Hall told 3AW Breakfast the numbers were likely even higher than the data reports.

“If you think about it, there will be people who don’t have insurance who can’t claim, so the numbers are probably much higher,” Mr Hall said.
