A rumour file suggested an emergency services chief executive was visiting a regional station when he was unexpectedly called into action.

Ambulance Victoria chief executive Jordan Emery confirmed the rumour and told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross and Russel the mother was the real hero of the story.

“Make no mistake, she did all the hard work, but we helped her deliver a beautiful little baby girl … it was pretty special,” he said.
