It has been revealed that James Hird will be interviewed as part of the coaching selection process at Essendon.

Leigh Matthews thinks James Hird’s lack of recent coaching experience could be a “handbrake” on his bid to return to Essendon.

“I think it’s a handbrake,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.
