Wholesale cocaine value in Melbourne has plummeted with a one-kilogram “brick” of cocaine estimated at just $100,000, down from $380,000.

Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association chief executive Chris Christoforou told 3AW Breakfast hosts Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen more and more people are using illicit substances.

“Demand is so strong and resilient here and it is a lucrative market for transnational serious organised crime,” he said.
