The Transport Workers Union is threatening industrial action over remuneration as concerns grow about a pending truck driver shortage.

Transport Workers Union national assistant secretary Emily McMillan told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott safety is a major concern for drivers.

“We’ve lost 27 truck drivers this year alone and 105 people in truck-related fatalities, we’ve got to keep doing something about that,” she said.
